Proverbs Chapter 7

Proverbs Chapter 7

Today’s Proverb was in chapter 7. “My son, keep my words and treasure up my commandments with you; keep my commandments and live; keep my teaching as the apple of your eye; bind them on your fingers; write them on the tablet of your heart.”
‭‭Proverbs‬ ‭7:1-3‬ ‭
Many people confuse wisdom with intellectual power or being smart. There are many smart people who don’t really know how to practically apply what they can recite. This comes from a lack of understanding and can lead to misapplication. It isn’t just enough to have a passing exposure to knowledge. There must be a humility to want to learn something thoroughly and a diligence to apply what has been learned in a real life application for ones self before understanding the wisdom. When we reject wisdom in truth, we often end up with the lies that we tell ourselves, or the lies that others fabricate for us that fit whatever makes it comfortable for us to continue in error. In this way we replace the truth God is trying to give us with idols of our own choosing. “For this is the love of God, that we keep his commandments: and his commandments are not grievous.”
‭‭1 John‬ ‭5:3‬ ‭Have an awesome day.
